The Event
Event Name: 2018 Giant Rockhampton CQ XC Round 3
Event Description: The 2018 Giant Rockhampton CQ XC Series Rd 3 is the third event in this year’s Cross Country MTB race series. Series points will be awarded for all individual places, and club points will also be awarded.
Series winners will be decided from the best 3 placings across 4 rounds. Rocky MTB or Gladstone MTB club members who choose to work a round will receive average points for that round (limited to one round only). No cash or sponsors prizes will be awarded for podium finishers.
All entry fees will go towards building new club trails this year. A random draw may be held after the race if there are sufficient sponsor prizes.

Where: Arunga Hut, Seeonee Park Scout Camp, 399 Yeppoon Road, Limestone Creek, Rockhampton (Between Access 4 and 5).
Race start time: Sunday 8.00 am.
Race number allocation: from 7.00 am to 7.45 am at Arunga Hut.
Riders Briefing: 7:50 am.
Online Entry Cost: $25 Senior (Elite, Masters, Sport, Super Masters, Female Elite and Sport, Novice), $10 all Juniors.
Online Entries only: On the day NOT available.
MTBA competition licence required or Day Licence available for additional $30 (purchase on line during your entry) for non MTBA members ages 19+, $18 for non members <19 years; $18 for a MTBA recreation member upgrade.

Men’s Elite, Ladies Elite, Ladies Sport, Masters, Super Masters and Sport, will ride the long course which is the most technical and requires the highest fitness level.
Novice and Juniors will ride the shorter course.
This race will be run in a ANTI CLOCKWISE direction. Course is subject to change at Event Directors discretion.
Lap numbers and lap distance:
– Elite – 4 laps x about 7.5 km.
– Sport – 3 laps x about 7.5 km.
– Ladies Elite- 3 laps x about 7.5 km.
– Masters (40 yrs as of 31 Dec 17) – 3 laps x about 7.5 km.
– Super Masters (50 yrs as of 31st Dec 17) 2 laps x about 7.5 km.
– Ladies Sport – 2 laps x about 7.5 km.
– Novice – 3 laps x 5.0 km, about 15 km total.
– Junior U19 (ages 15 to 18 as of 31 Dec 17) – 3 laps x about 5.0 km.
– Junior U15 (ages 12 to 14 as of 31 Dec 17) – 2 laps x about 5.0 km.
– Junior U12 (ages 9 to 11 as of 31 Dec 17) – 2 laps x about 5.0 km.
Access Times for Practice:
Event Cancellation: If the event has to be cancelled due to extreme weather, a notification will be posted on the Rocky MTB Facebook page.
Venue Rules: No dogs or glass bottles allowed. Drive slowly obeying speed signs through the Scout Camp. MTBA Code of Conduct applies regarding behaviour.
Facilities: No camping is available for this event. Basic toilets and cold showers are available.
We use the Seeonee Park trails by kind permission of Rockhampton Scout Association, so please respect our privileged access by removing all rubbish and by looking after the facilities.
Sponsors prizes: Any sponsors prizes will be offered as a random draw after the race. There are no podium prizes on offer other than the glory of mounting the podium and being immortalised via social media. The purpose of this race is to have fun and raise money for further MTB track construction.
