Welcome to Rocky MTB

The home of Rocky MTB

Hi and welcome to Rockhampton Mountain Bike Club‘s website. Thanks for taking the time to check us out.

OK, so let’s talk mountain biking. If you’re looking for somewhere to ride around Rockhampton, we have two main trail networks.

First Turkey is the home of MTB in Rocky and is open all day everyday except when Mother Nature has other ideas.

We also have trails at Seeonee Park which we share with the Scouts. Seeonee has restricted access hours to Rocky MTB members only.

All trails are rated to IMBA standards so finding a track to suit your fitness and skills shouldn’t be hard. Visit the Trails page for detailed info.

Most Saturday and Sunday mornings you’ll find plenty of people riding at First Turkey. Rock up and have a lap. It won’t be long before you bump into someone to ride with or to point out the type of trails you’re looking for.

Cross Country Mountain BikingOrganised social rides occur throughout the year and are advertised here.

The Club runs a number of mountain bike races throughout the year.  We offer cross country (XC), gravity enduro (GE) and an annual 6 hour race.

Don’t worry if you’ve never raced before. There are categories for everyone from junior and novice through to expert. Our 6 hour race also has a team format so you can share the pain with your friends!

Please consider becoming a member of Rocky MTB. Membership benefits are many, not least personal insurance, but just as importantly your membership dollars are ploughed back into building new trails and progressing the sport in Central Queensland.

Rocky MTB members trail building at First TurkeyAside from riding your bike we have regular dig days to maintain our trails and put back into the reserve, so consider joining up.

If you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch.  You can also find us on Facebook and Instagram.

Now get out on your bike and ride! 🙂

  1. Good day. I am a father with two boys, ages 9 and 12, who are interested in trying the circuit and hopefully getting interested in this sport. When would it be a good time meet someone at the circuit to get more information?

    Thanks Stephen

    1. Hi Stephen. Thanks for contacting us. Riders go to the trails at various times of day or night, so it’s a bit difficult to give you a time. Thursday nights at 6 are our only regular social ride time at present, and of course you are welcome to come along and talk to some of the club members. I would suggest also that post question on the Rocky MTB Social page on Facebook. There are other fathers with kids who ride there, so they might find a few new mates to ride with.
